To celebrate our 12 month anniversary of hikes, our December Hike will be a Sunrise Hike at Storm King. Of course, this will be weather dependent.
As a bonus, this is one of those hikes that starts you halfway up the hill, so you get more view than you actually earn. As this is a sunrise hike, we’ll get those bonus views on the way down!! This is not to say that this is an easy hike. There are a couple of very steep stretches here, including a place toward the beginning that requires a little bit of rock scrambling.
This is one of the BEST sunrise hikes in the Hudson Valley. Along with an amazing sunrise, we’ll get fantastic views of Newburgh Bay, Bannerman’s Castle, the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, the Catskills in the distance and the eastern Hudson Highlands across the river.
A few very important things to note:
HEADLAMPS ARE MANDATORY
EXPERIENCED HIKERS ONLY (we’ll be hiking up in the dark & maintaining a brisk pace)
ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON THIS ONE
HIKE WILL START AT 5AM SHARP
As always, these hikes are free to join. Registration via Eventbrite is required. Scan the QR Code or use the link:
