DESCRIPTION:To celebrate our 12 month anniversary of hikes\, our December Hike will be a Sunrise Hike at Storm King. Of course\, this will be weather dependent.\n\nAs a bonus\, this is one of those hikes that starts you halfway up the hill\, so you get more view than you actually earn. As this is a sunrise hike\, we’ll get those bonus views on the way down!! This is not to say that this is an easy hike. There are a couple of very steep stretches here\, including a place toward the beginning that requires a little bit of rock scrambling.\nThis is one of the BEST sunrise hikes in the Hudson Valley. He had just donated the new floors for the new renovation of the Aisling Center’s building before his untimely death. His children Ryan\, Courtney\, Grainne & Ciara join with Team Aisling to invite you to walk or run in memory of Phil. It will be a fun morning with great memories and stories about Phil while doing what we know would make him proud\, raising a few dollars for the Homeless Program at the Aisling Center. So come along and meet the Traynor Family who are continuing their Dad’s mission in life “doing good in the community”. Brendan Fitzgerald\, who will lead the parade as the Grand Marshall.\n\nPlease come along and join us!\n\n\nThe parade will be held on Saturday March 18th 2023 at 1pm “rain or shine”\n\n\n\n2023 Grand Marshall\, Fr. Brendan Fitzgerald\n\n\n\n\nFr. Fitzgerald was born in Rockaway\, NY\, the son of Irish immigrants from County Kerry. He attended Maynooth Seminary in Kildare and in his pastoral year\, he served St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta. He was ordained in 2000 in Limerick and after serving for five years as a priest in Ireland\, he returned to the U.S. in 2006.\n\n\nHe is currently the pastor of St. Barnabas Church (Bronx\, NY) a strong Irish-American parish in the Woodlawn-McLean Avenue area\, and also serves as the Dean of the North East Bronx at the appointment of Cardinal Timothy Dolan. During his time at Saint Barnabas he has become Chaplain to the FDNY Emerald Society\, FDNY Holy Name Society\, FDNY G.A.A.\, United Emerald Societies\, New York State AOH\, and the New York GAA as well as Chaplain of the Kerry Association. The Parade Board recognizes Fr. Fitzgerald’s contribution to the greater St. Barnabas neighborhood in Yonkers and Woodlawn. He is a well-respected presence in southeast Yonkers since becoming Pastor\, and has demonstrated great leadership and involvement in the broader community.
